How To Find Long Lost Friends

There were a couple of friends that you remember from high school who you were very close to, you were all like brothers. It has been at least 10 years since you've last spoken to them, in fact the last time everyone was together as a group was at one of their weddings. One of you went into the army, and the other went far away to college. You've met plenty of friends throughout the years, but none can compare to your old buddies from high school.

You desparately want to get in contact with them to see how they are doing and to share what's been going on in your life with them. However, you don't have a clue where to even begin to search. First of all, don't forget the informations highway which is the very thing you are reading this article on. The internet is full of information and the possibility is that you can find some if not all of your friends out there in cyberspace. You don't have to climb aboard a space capsule to contact them.

Facebook, myspace and all the other social networking sites could be a start for you, so if you already have an account you can do a search by typing in a friends name and see if that will lead you to that friend, but if not there are other places you can try online, like classmates.com or other people search sites which are plentiful on the internet.

Contacting your high school and asking them if they plan on having a reunion for the students who were there at the time you attended is a good idea, they should be able to steer you in the right direction and maybe even give you some contact information of the person who is planning the reunion or hosting it. Be sure to tell them who you are and what year you attended that certain high school, they might even remember you and the click you hung out with and tell you if some of your friends plan on attending the high school reunion.

When you do get in contact with your friends, they will be much older, possibly married and have families of their own. You might feel that there isn't anything you have in common with them anymore after contacting them. Try and remember what you did have, which was an exciting history together as close friends in high school; so try and recapture it by talking about old times or do some of the fun stuff you did together back then. Meet their families and share what has been happening in your life, too.

If your old high school does not have anyone who was ever interested in planning a reunion for the years you and your friends attended, you can plan a reunion yourself, so of course this will lead you to have to do some extensive research on locating old friends even more. You might think it will be a waste of time looking in old address or phone books for the numbers of your friends, although you may be surprised to learn that some of your friends might still have those numbers or at least their parents live at the same addresses. Don't shy away from calling those phone numbers to find out, it doesn't hurt to try.

Sometimes talk shows like Oprah and others does shows on reuniting long lost friends and loved ones; Needless to say, going to that extreme will not be necessary. I am confident that you will be able to contact some of your friends through Facebook or other social networking sites online, that was mentioned earlier in this article.

If you've tried everything and nothing seems to work, perhaps it's better to wait. If you were an awesome friend, you're missed by your friends and one day your friends will come looking for you. Therefore, until then enjoy the people who are in your life now.
